Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most from new clients.

What should I expect during my first session?

Your first session is an intake appointment where Candice gets to know you, your history, and your goals. She'll ask about what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. Together, you'll create a personalized treatment plan. There's no pressure — most clients feel relief just from having a safe space to talk.

How do I know if I need therapy?

If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or struggling in your relationships, therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit — many people start therapy to develop better coping skills, improve communication, or work through a life transition. If something feels off, that's reason enough.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept SelectHealth, United Healthcare, BlueCross BlueShield, EMI Health, Tricare, and PEHP. Your specific out-of-pocket cost depends on your plan and deductible. Call us at (801) 597-9558 and we'll help verify your benefits before your first appointment.

Do you offer telehealth / online therapy?

Yes. We offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions for clients throughout Utah. Telehealth sessions use the same evidence-based techniques as in-person visits and are covered by most insurance plans. Many clients prefer the convenience of therapy from home.

How long does therapy take to work?

It depends on what you're working on. Many clients notice improvements within 4-8 sessions. Some issues resolve in a few months, while deeper work may take longer. Candice will regularly check in on your progress and you'll always be part of decisions about your care.

Is what I say in therapy confidential?

Absolutely. Everything discussed in therapy is strictly confidential. The only exceptions are situations required by law — if there's imminent danger to yourself or others, or suspected child or elder abuse. Candice will explain these boundaries clearly during your first session.
